Become a Registrant

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the Nova Scotia Regulator of Respiratory Therapy! In Nova Scotia, respiratory therapy is a regulated profession, which means you must be registered and licensed to work as a respiratory therapist. The NSRRT’s job is to oversee and regulate the profession to protect the public. It sets the standards for becoming a respiratory therapist and ensures that all registrants follow provincial laws and regulations.

To apply to become a registrant, please select the appropriate registration category from the menus to the left of this page.

After choosing the correct registration category, complete the application and submit the required documents and applicable fees.

You may not practice respiratory therapy or identify yourself as a "Respiratory Therapist" in Nova Scotia until after you have been issued a certificate of registration.

If you have any questions please contact the NSRRT at registrar@nsrrt.ca

Best Regards,
